2012 :-)

A New Year Prayer

May God make your year a happy one!
Not necessarily by shielding you from all sorrows and pain,
But necessarily by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not necessarily by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not necessarily by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;
Not necessarily by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
Not necessarily by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people need you most,
and by making you willing to help.
May God’s love, peace, hope and joy be with you for the year ahead!

Christmas 2011

A blessed Christmas to you all!

The Word was made flesh, He lived among us and we saw His glory,
the glory that is his as the only Son of the Father full of grace and truth.

The angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.  And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.  He will be great, and will be called the Son of  the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there will be no end."

Christ the King

Then the King will say to those at his right hand, `Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,  I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.'

Matthew 25:34-36

Then the kingdom of heaven shall be compared to ten maidens who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them;  but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.

 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" And he said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets."

28th Sunday

On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples
a feast of rich food, a feast of well-matured wines,
of rich food filled with marrow, of well-matured wines strained clear.
  And he will destroy on this mountain
  the shroud that is cast over all peoples,
  the sheet that is spread over all nations;
  he will swallow up death for ever.
Then the Lord God will wipe away the tears from all faces,
and the disgrace of his people he will take away from all the earth,
for the Lord has spoken.

Isaiah 25:6-8
